PATTERN: Wild Roses Scandinavian Blanket
YOU ARE BUYING A *LOOP YARN* FINGER-KNITTING PATTERN, NOT THE FINISHED PRODUCT. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR BUYING YOUR OWN MATERIALS TO COMPLETE THIS PROJECT.
This PDF pattern includes pattern templates and row-by-row stitch instructions. For general instructions on knitting with Alize Puffy More yarn, please see my free instruction sheet here.
The Wild Roses Scandinavian Blanket Pattern combines traditional Norwegian sweater motifs of large and small rose motifs and bands of abstract leaves. Like all Alize Puffy More designs, this pattern is repeated on the back side of the blanket in inverse colours.
SKILL LEVEL: Advanced.
SUGGESTED MATERIALS: 8 balls of Alize Puffy More yarn (5.3oz, 150g) (Image shown is the colour 6293).
SUGGESTED TOOLS: No needles required (finger knitting). Scissors. (Because the loops of this product are quite small, you may find it easier to use a crochet hook than your fingers. I use a US J10/6 mm hook).
FINISHED MEASUREMENTS: Approx. 39” by 42” (99 cm by 107 cm).
PLEASE NOTE: Alize Puffy More is a double-stranded yarn which is manufactured in a way to create double-sided colourwork patterns.
Currently, the only substitute for this yarn is Bernat Alize Blanket-EZ Graph It yarn, a yarn introduced in North America in 2021; which has unfortunately been discontinued (although you may still be able to find it re-sold online). This yarn comes in larger skeins, so you will need approximately 15% fewer skeins to complete this project as-is. Also, the loops are slightly taller, so your finished blanket will be 25% longer.

It was a download. This was my first attempt at using a graphed pattern with Bernat Alize loopy yarn. The one note I'd make for the instructions is to work the first side for several rows, then flip and do the opposite side. This is how I discovered issues that needed me to take out work and redo. If the entire first side was completely before attempting the second side, it would have been a nightmare as this project takes VERY long as it is. [NOTE from ILoveMyBlanket Shop: Rotating between the front and back of your blanket is a great tip, which is why we suggest that exact strategy in the Instruction Sheet included with your pattern. :)]
