The Mermaid Tail Hat is a novelty pattern of fish-scale stitches for the body of the hat finishing in a tail fin at the end. This pattern yields a hat of suitable size for a 3-8 year old, or a 'baby bag' mermaid tail for baby photos (0-3 month size).

SKILL LEVEL: Intermediate.

SUGGESTED MATERIALS: Approximately half a ball of Bernat Alize Blanket-EZ Yarn (6.4oz, 180g) (The example in the photos was made with ‘Mint’ for the body and ‘Seaport Teals’ for the tail).

SUGGESTED TOOLS: No needles required (finger knitting). Scissors.

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS: Approximately 20" (51 cm) in circumference (approximately 3-8 year old size). Length of hat from brim to tail is 24" (61 cm).
