PATTERN: Extra-Chunky Staghorn Cable Blanket
YOU ARE BUYING A FINGER-KNITTING PATTERN, NOT THE FINISHED PRODUCT. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR BUYING YOUR OWN MATERIALS TO COMPLETE THIS PROJECT.
This PDF pattern includes written English instructions, as well as a pattern template.
The Extra-Chunky Staghorn Cable Blanket pattern has a centre pattern of extra-chunky staghorn cables, bordered on each side by smaller staghorn cables and flat twist cables. Staghorn cables are a common motif in Irish Aran knitting.
NOTE: Photos 1, 3 & 4 show this pattern knit with Bernat Alize Blanket-EZ yarn (dimensions 40" x 56").
SKILL LEVEL: Intermediate.
SUGGESTED MATERIALS: 9 balls of Red Heart Loop-It yarn (3.5 oz/100g (Image shown is the colour ‘Berry Gorgeous’).
SUGGESTED TOOLS: No needles required (finger knitting). Scissors.
FINISHED MEASUREMENTS: Approx. 32” x 46” (81 cm x 116.5 cm).
PLEASE NOTE: This pattern will work with any brand of loop yarn, but keep in mind that the size of the loops, and size of the balls/skeins of each brand is different. Lion Brand Off-The-Hook, Red Heart Loop-It and Alize Puffy yarns can all be used with this pattern as is and will yield a blanket of approximately the same same size. If you use Bernat Alize Blanket-EZ yarn, the loops are larger, so the blanket will be larger; and because the balls are larger (6.4 oz/180g), only 6-7 balls should be needed.
